Twister...Ride It Out at Universal Studios Orlando, FL - as the General Manager at Sightline Studios in Starke, Florida

While working for Sightline Studios, we had the privilege of designing and building the intricate props, special effects, and staging for the iconic Twister...Ride It Out attraction at Universal Studios in Orlando. This project showcased our expertise in creating immersive environments and large-scale installations.

The centerpiece of the project was the massive Twister sign, measuring an impressive 62' x 40'. Fabricated in three sections at our Starke, FL facility, it was transported to Orlando on three 53’ extended flatbed trucks. Once on-site, the sign was mounted on the side of a six-story building, creating a dramatic and visually stunning focal point for the ride.

We also crafted a life-like tractor using a fiberglass mold taken from a real tractor. To enhance the illusion, we designed blockwork to simulate the tractor "busting through the building," adding to the ride's immersive storytelling. These elements were meticulously engineered and manufactured at our Starke facility to ensure precision and durability.

Every detail, from conceptual design to final installation, was carefully planned and executed to meet Universal Studios’ high standards for quality and realism. The entire project spanned approximately one year, demonstrating our ability to deliver exceptional results within a tight timeline.

This project was a testament to our ability to merge creativity, craftsmanship, and engineering, bringing the chaos and excitement of a twister to life for thousands of park visitors.
